Discussing Chapters 12-14

The assignment is the same as the first three times! :)  Comment your ideas, feelings, likes, dislikes on the chapters we read on Saturday.  Whatever opinion you have is completely valid as long as you can support it, explain it, back it up with clear explanations and examples.

Don't forget to also comment on at least one other person's ideas.  This, like last week's writing, is worth 10 points.

The deadline is Friday, April 8 at 8:00 pm.

Note: Many of you are not commenting on some other person's ideas... it's very important that you do this or you won't get the full 10 points!

Tip: Remember, in a good piece of writing you must put your soul there, you have to be courageous to write your true thoughts, otherwise what you wrote can seem uninteresting... the more thruthful you are, the more interesting it is for others to read and know you as a person.  Bear this in mind when you put your ideas on paper.

  1. Maybe, from here until the end, the history will turn into something really exciting, the secret of Grace Poole, who is Mr Mason and why Rochester is so afraid of his inopportune visit, who attacked him, and many other questions will be answered! The way that Rochester tricked Mrs. Ingram, and the others ladies, and he tring to declare his real feelings to Jane, these three chapters shows that, no matter how deep is your sorrow, you always have love in your heart, and you´ll fight for it. Maybe there are too many secrets by now, but I´m waiting for the great final.

  3. A stranger arrived at thornfield, his name was Mason. Mr Rochester was very nervous when he knew that, perhaps because Mr Mason know something about him. That night another attack occur, but this time someone attack Mr Mason. Jane was very confused because she didnt know why these attacks happened and in the night that she had to take care about the bleeding man, she thought a lot about it.
Jane went to Gateshead to visit her aunt because she was very ill. Her aunt gave Jane a letter from Jonh Eyre and then she died.
I didnt like this part because her aunt hated Jane until she died.

  4. WOW!! I really like the last three chapters!! What i liked most was when we discovered that the gipsy woman wasn´t a woman..! it was Mr Rochester investigating what people says or think about him..specially what Jane feels towards him, asking many questions that Jane answered calmly with short but assertive answers..
I´m so curious of Mr Mason nobody says nothing about him, but i´m almost sure that he knows something really important of Mr Rochester past(at this point i agree with clau); this was my conclusion after his reaction when Jane told him that Mason was in the house: " The smile froze on Mr Rochester´s lips, and his face went white".
I hated when Mr Rochester shows love or kind feelings towards Jane just when he needs help! "Jane help me", "He took my hand and rubbed it gently", and something i didn´t like too was when he said:"I wish i were on an island WITH YOU and nobody else" and a few days later he said:"Yes, you´ve noticed my LOVE for Miss Ingram, haven't you?", "Don´t you think she will cure me of my wickedness?".
    Mr Rochester only Mr Rochester!

  5. Those three chapters are so interesting and where discovered some of the mysteries.. for example the gipsy woman was Mr Rochester I think he disguised to know what Jane feel for him exactly ..
I hate when he said in some part that he love Mrs. Ingram.. That she would be his cure of his wickedness but in other parts he give to understand that his love is Jane.. OMG.. So what he want??
And the part where also is interesting is when the stranger attacked to Mr Mason.. I think this stranger could be somebody crazy... but have a relationship between Mr Rochester and Mr Mason Why? because Mr Rochester stayed in shock when Knew that Mr Mason was there and just when he stayed in thornfield happened this attacked... mmm there something fishy...

  6. Of course I think what was interesting was when Mr Rochester disguised as a gypsy. It was funny!
I also really lked when Mr. Rochester said: "You're cold because you're alone, You're ill, because you lack love. And you're fool because love is ner you, and you won't take one step to reach it" That's definitely true of many people.
I didn't liked when Jane had to go to Gateshead. Let's see what will happen with her visit to Gateshead.

  7. I disagree with Lorena, I don't think Mr. Mason is crazy, if it's that what she said. I think he doesn't really get along well with Mr. Rochester.

  8. Claudia: Why didn't you like the part that Jane's aunt hated her until she died? What did this demonstrate about her? How did it make you feel?

  9. Laura: Mr Rochester is very contradictory isn't he? But isn't this often a male characteristic? To say he wants to be with one, but then is with another... something to think about!

  10. Cynthia: What makes you say it's somebody crazy? What part of the story gives you this idea?

  11. Pablo, in what way is it true of many people? What do you mean?

  12. Well. I have to say that the more we read, the more enteresting the story becomes. We have more action, troubles, secrets and “love”. Personally, I like the part when Jane return to Gateshead, so she is showing that she is a brave, humble and lovely woman. She replied her aunt's call and went to visit her although she had a miserable and poor life there. This is a real womam.

I also agree with the other guys about the gipsy, that finally was Mr. Rochester. It was a good shot of him trying to figure out what was going on with the ladies and specially with Jane.

Let's keep on reading.. It's getting more enteresting

  13. Well I didn't like it because she died and didn't apologize to Jane for all that she did when Jane was a little girl. This demonstrate that she was a bad and arrogant woman, that had a hard heart.
This makes me feel disappointed because I waited that in her deathbed she apologized and at least kiss Jane, who was the only person that take care about her.

  14. The person who attacked Mr. Mason is crazy... I think could be Grace Poole Because she has something different.. For example when Mr. Rochester’s Room there was a fire.. always she has some participation y those events..

  15. Mr. Rochester disguised like a gypsy to know Jane's feelings, because he didn't have the courage to ask her. He is not a goog person to be with her
