The assignment is the same as the first four times! :) Comment your ideas, feelings, likes, dislikes on the chapters we read on Saturday. Whatever opinion you have is completely valid as long as you can support it, explain it, back it up with clear explanations and examples.
Don't forget to also comment on at least one other person's ideas. This, like last week's writing, is worth 10 points.
The deadline is Friday, April 15 at 8:00 pm.
Note: Many of you are not commenting on some other person's ideas... it's very important that you do this or you won't get the full 10 points!
Tip: Remember, in a good piece of writing you must put your soul there, you have to be courageous to write your true thoughts, otherwise what you wrote can seem uninteresting... the more thruthful you are, the more interesting it is for others to read and know you as a person. Bear this in mind when you put your ideas on paper.
Well, at the beginning of the story I figured out that Jane was always a poor innocence child who nobody liked her, so when she came to Mr. Rochester`s house she began to change her lifestyle a little bit, but always like the smallest creature of all.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion Jane is too nice even with his evil aunt who never loved her, so at least I expected that Mr. Rochester declares his love for her but he did not, unlike he wanted her to beg him not to marry Miss Ingram, although finally she confessed all her feelings that before were always hidden.
Unfortunately, Mr Rochester had a big and difficult secret that would allow them to be together: “Mr. Rochester had already married “, so this was the worst part of all. Poor Jane, when she thought that all her dreams would become true, became ashes. But I believe that god will reward her with something much better.
1-5: the first part of the story it’s really sad for me because I can’t understand why her aunt didn’t like her. When Jane went to Lowood, her life didn’t change a lot, because that place had many necessities and the people of there weren’t very good.
ReplyDelete6-8: because of the poor food and bad conditions died many girls and one of the girl was Helen, the only friend of Jane, the people who were there was so incomprehensible, they didn’t care about the bad situation. Well, 10 years past that Jane was in Lowood and then she want to change her life, that was a good idea, because live in the same place without go in other places would be very boring. For luck, she get a job in Thornfield as a governess, she went there and didn’t thought that there was “the love”
9-11: after Mr. R. told to Jane about her past, about Celine, I think that he is a good man because he takes care about Adele; supposedly Adele was Mr. R’s daughter, but he never believed in that. Another point that I want to know is the mystery of Grace Poole, I have many questions, and for example why she wanted to kill Mr. R.?? What would be the secret that they had?? Well, I can’t wait to know all this!!
12-14: I liked all the gipsy was talking, but when I realize that the gipsy was Mr. R. I didn’t really like, because he was lied to know what they thought. In another part, I was shocked when Jane’s aunt died and nobody cried for her death, why Jane’s cousins didn’t cry?? Did they really love her mom??
15-17: Jane didn’t believe that she will marry, although she was so happy, but unluckily the happiness was only a few days.
Karina Tijera!!
Jane had a difficult life in her childhood, when she was living with her aunt, she was unhappy because nobody like her her life continued being unhappy when she left her aunt’s house. In Lowood, the school where she went was a really bad place, the children didn’t eat good foods and the treatment from the people of there, it was bad.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion Jane is so valiant because she supported many things. She had to live 8 years in the same place, poor foods and in bad living conditions died many girls of there. When Jane left Lowood and met Mr. Rochester, she acts as she was a woman with experience. I didn’t hope that because she never went anywhere and didn’t know the life out of Lowood, but she knows very well what to said to Mr. Rochester.
I admired that Jane salved Mr. Rochester from death, someone set fire in his room, and the strange laugh is something to discovered………
Mr. Rochester was shameless to told to Jane as he feels something for her one night then he went to another place, and return with Blanche Ingram treating Jane as she wasn’t exist..
12-14 it was my summary
Mrs. Fairfax said that “Mr. Rochester is 20 years older than she” “he could be your father” ….. I like when Jane replied crossly “he looks much younger than that” but….does the age really important?? I need the answer ::::::
why did Jane confess her feelings? she didn´t know well Mr Rochester.. it have to be Mr Rochester who gave the first step, why did he wait Jane?
ReplyDeleteHe thinks he´s the best or something like that?
The part where she confesses her feelings was bored for me.. Jane was so foolish to say those words to a man she didn´t know very well.. he makes her suffer..
"do you think i can watch another woman become your bride?" was her desperate words when Mr Rochester talks about the marriage.
The weeding day was shocked what a surprise to received in your marriage.! your future husband is already married.. ha ha
Mr Rochester what a strange men!
I didn´t like this chapters..
I agree with Laura that Mr. Rochester should take the first step and I think that Mr. Rochester is a egocentric and he believe that he has the power or something like that for that he could persuade to Jane gave the first step of saying his feelings. He would not say all that in the situation that was Jane if she was in love.. When you love someone you don’t think about the consequences of their actions..
ReplyDeleteAs I said from the beginning this novel is like the typical poor Mexican woman falls for a rich man.. And now she suffers a big disappointment.. Although I'm surprised the calm with which she acts in front of that situation as embarrassing
To Clara: the heart don't see the age (this is sooo romantic) jaja

ReplyDeleteAnd finally Mr. Rochester and Jane are together. I mean, now it's clear for both what they feel each other. That's the part I liked the most this week.
ReplyDeleteI didn't like when Jane doubted about his feelings for her:
"How foolish I had been to believe him.."
Ah and I do think the following speech of hers is totally silly:
"I lay on my bed, faint and wishing for death, while darkness swam around me" It is so dramatic that it makes laugh! Haha!
I don't think Mr. Rochester's marriage is really a trouble. He could easily get divorced of the inhuman being because of her madness. Well, maybe during that time it wasn't as easy to get divorced as it is nowadays, haha!
My opinion about what my classmates, specially girls, think about Mr. Rochester's attitude: I don't think he's egocentric. In fact it seems like he has a low self-steem. He's always asking to Jane if he's handsome!! And maybe that's why he wanted her to take the next step (He had already taken the first step talking to Jane how good her magic makes him feel. I don't know for you guys, but those few words are enough for me haha!) So, Jane took the next step, and it is obvious that she did it in a dramatic way haha!
I liked a lot these chapters of Jane Eyre, Jane shows her feelings to Mr. Rochester. They felt the same things, so Mr. Rochester wanted to marry with her. Jane could`nt believe that, but then she accepted. She was very happy, and told to Mrs. Fairfat the news, she also couldn´t believe and advise to Jane to keep distance of Mr. Rochester until they were marry.
ReplyDeleteIn the day of wedding Jane knew all the secrets of Mr Rochester and Thornfield at the mistery room, the mistery woman, she was Mr. Rochester`s wife and she was there because she was crazy...
Their marriage was a problem!! is not as easy as get divorced as you said Pablo...
ReplyDeleteThe real problem is to have secrets with your future wife.. when something starts bad it´ll end bad.. Lie to a person you pretend to be your companion for your whole life IS a PROBLEM..
ok, I have to say something so, I don't agree with Pablo, First, Mr. Rochester isn't just a egocentric, he's liar, cynical and cheeky; She took a inocent, sweet girl with good feelings just to feel that he could be diferent beside her, he didn't think about her or her feelings, he just acted being selfish, so guys, that's not true love.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Jane when in her speech she mentioned that she was foolish, etc; that's absolutly true, because she knew that something wrong was happening and she didn't ask or complain about that, she just believed on him without thinking the facts!, and of course Mr. Rochester's marriage is important, not because the fact of he didn't get divorced but because he didn't mention anything to Jane, he hid something, and you don't hide anything of the person who you really love, mainly if you are getting marry with her/him,and above all things if the thing that you're hiddig is that you're married and your husband/wife is mad and lives at your house hidden like an animal. :)

ReplyDeleteIt has to be 'he took' after the first semicolon in the text :) grammar mistakes sorry.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Laura lie is a problem. Mr Rochester only thougt in himself, and didn't thougt the possibility of told to Jane the true, but it happened Jane knew all the true and was very sad.
ReplyDeleteIf I were Jane I would kill Mr Rochester, because I hate the lies. If Jane believe again in Mr Rochester perhaps he will play again with Jane
Really, I'd like to say to Jane that life's easier than she thinks. There are a lot of Janes in our class!!! Hahaha!
