Hi class,
After reading Manuel's summary, you must come to this post and discuss your opinions of the story... what part you liked, felt identified with, what you felt, what you didn't like, what impressions it caused you (positive and negative). After writing your impressions, you must comment on at least one other person's reflections; stating if you agree or don't agree with his/her impressions. I can't wait to read them, so, let the comments begin!
I dont think that Jane had a bad time at her aunt´s house, because thanks that, she went to school, and met a lot of good people in there, and I think that she will meet someone important ahead.....
ReplyDeleteInteresting idea... but you must give examples to support your point of view that she didn't have a bad time. What makes you think this? Can you give some details from the story? And what makes you say she will meet someone important? By the way, can you identify yourself? Otherwise you won't get the class participation points! :)
ReplyDeleteIn the first part, where her cousins didn´t allow her to join the reunion, she went to a small room next door. chose a book full of pictures (at least she could read every time that John was not there, then she hide herself, maybe that was her "secret place", where she could read and forget her real life.
ReplyDeleteShe faced her cousin and aunt, winning because she was always right, in both cases, it helped her to go to school.
-He rushed to attack me, but he was fighting with a desesperate girl...My resistance surprised him and he shouted for help. ( Then they sent her to the Red Room, well, she had balls).
-I do not deceive people! If I told lies, I would say I loved you! and I hate you bi*c*......
Even before I had finished I began to experience a great feeling of freedom and relief.
Those parts shows that maybe she was unhappy, but she had a great spirit.
Then she achieved what she wanted, she went to school and, It was a cold and dark place, she met two good people in there: The crazy girl called Burns, and Mrs. Temple.
Had to wake up early, wash herself, no bathtub or shower (well, maybe if she wanna some rain), after her boring bible class, it supposed to be the breakfast, but they couldn´t eat at all because the cheff sucks, Mrs. Miller gave to them bread and cheese, that was good ( I didn´t mention Mr.Brcklehurts, that mean man saying somthig totally different to his own truth)
Then, she met Helen Burns, weird lady...
Well, As always, our special friend Eyre, got into trouble broking her slate (ayayay)
A lot of things happend.... And only Mrs. Temple and Helen were there to stay by her side, making her feel better.
-"I wish I were dead, and Helen arrived bringing my coffe and bread, I was to upset to eat or drink, but she sat with me for some time, talking gently to me, wiping away my tear(O.O) and helping me to recover... " After that Mrs. Temple appeared and invited then to go with her to her room....
I don´t know if Helen is ill, or will die, or got married (that is the same of dying)but these words don´t give too much information:
-You´ve come to say goodbye, you are just in time, i´m going soon... WTF?? Ten points XD
Holly mother, well, every time I read, I find a grammar mistake.......
ReplyDeleteBruno, I´m Bruno !!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly am I supposed to write here? Haha! Ok, seriously. The part she goes to Lowood Institution was the part I liked most. And it's not because she was, somehow, giving up on her relatives, but because of the changes that going there brings with (?). Changes are new opportunities.
ReplyDeleteI felt identified with the same part (when she was going away) I like changes, new people, new stories, new places.
I don't like when some people try or do whatever they can to please others, but never get there. Maybe because I'm always trying to, it really annoys me (haha)
A positive impression it caused me, was that always there's somebody you can trust to, helping you to go through hard times. And a negative impression, was how people can be extremely cruel with children.
Well, that's all. Is everything Ok, teacher?
Now I have to comment on someone's reflections, and the only one here, besides the Teacher, is Bruno! Well, I don't agree with him. I think Jane had a bad time in her aunt's house. But I do think it was not really an awful time, at least she had the servant to talk to, and her realtives gave her education, no matter if it was because that's the way they found to get rid of her. Maybe she overdramatizes everything that happens to her or around her. Yeah! That's my point, she's just a dramatic little girl.
ReplyDeleteWell.. I must confess.. i love the book because it has an interesting and different story to tell us just in the beginning happened too many things and i believed this will continue...
ReplyDeleteI think Jane ins´t a bad girl she acts in such a way because of the bad influence of her relatives who always make her feel less and not well received this is maybe the main reason of her unpredictable character.
I didn´t like the part that she was sent to the red room because she wasn´t the real guilty of the fight, in fact, John was more responsible than her, because she was calm, quiet, reading (or watching) her book, not disturbing anyone and he went to her secret place(ex secret place now), offending her, saying irrelevant things that only make her feel angry and strong enough to encourage the fighting. His words were: "Where are you, rat?" Was necessary to call her in that way?? NOT really!!
In the other hand, i liked the part when she went to the school thinking in the possibility of having a better and a happier life than before, and in her new life she wants to succeed. "Could i ever start a new life after this?" was her desperate question when she broke the slate in front of Mr Brocklehurst, she believed that all her hopes of better life was broke too as the slate, but she already make friends(Helen and Miss Temple) who were there to support her.
I have to say only that marrying is not to die as Bruno said... Bruno, marry is have a happier life than before..ha-ha Dont you agree teacher???
ReplyDeleteLOL! Yes, Laura! Of course! :) But you also have to comment and give your opinion with more details, about Jane Eyre. If you agree or not with the point of view of what they wrote.
ReplyDeleteBruno: You have a very interesting theory concerning JE, it definitely is a completely original take on it. I difinitely agree with you about Jane having 'a great spirit', because she did. In certain ways, she's an example to us all how she faced things because many of us wouldn't have the courage, would we?
ReplyDeleteI'm really intrigued in why you believe Helen to be a 'crazy girl'... do you think so because of her strong reliegious beliefs? So if she were a complete agnostic she would be 'normal'?
I dont agree with pablo!! she isnt dramatic!! I believed she suffers and did have a bad time in her aunts house because to treat a girl of 10 years old in that way you might be crazy!! Maybe she is traumatic!! Because as you can see in the novel when she talks to Bessie she is a good girl...
ReplyDeleteI found this story gripping, because shows a girl who is practically alone at the first time without anyone's love, but when she goes to Lowood Institution her lifestyle change for better... made news friends, she felt as one more and nobody mistreated. But them appear some problems.. the event that most impressed me was when she was punished in front of all the girls. In this moment all that she'd done went to the trash, got friends won the affection and appreciation of all. One aspect I found a little disappointing was when she felt resentment for those who unjustly accused her.. because she knows what is the truth..
